How I Managed To Cure My Panic Attacks

I first became aware of my disorder when I was in my teens. This fear started as hypochondria. I was reading books on medical conditions and I started imagining those horrible things happening in my body. The fear vanished after a time and it did not reappear until several years later when puffing from a physical exertion, I suddenly felt panic welling up from inside me. My heart started racing faster, I felt like something bad is going to happen to me and I suddenly thought about dying. The fear became so much that I did not know what to do. That was my first encounter with panic attack. Since then I had so many panic experiences that I started searching ways to cure my panic attacks.

At first I tried consulting with a psychiatrist as it seems to be the logical thing to do then. She gave me a drug that was meant to relax and put me to sleep. What it did actually was to make me drowsy but did not stop my anxiety as I expected it to do.

To cure my panic attacks, I began to research on how I could control my fears. I did not research the disorder itself for fear of making me more vulnerable to more panic attacks. This fear emanated from my very first episode where I first experienced panic because I have read too many medical facts. In the course of my searching, I began to encounter people who are suffering the same condition.

I began to learn from their experiences, and they began teaching me on how to cope with the attack. This prompted me to stop taking medications and started concentrating on making myself more physically strong.

Excellent Ways to Ease Panic Disorder

As I gathered strength and stamina, I began to have more confidence. But my panic attacks did not stop. They simply diminished in intensity. That is when a close friend of mine who has the same condition introduced me to mental conditioning.

To cure my panic attacks, I began to take deep breaths whenever I feel an anxiety attack was imminent. As I breathe, I imagine things that have made me happy. It was hard diverting your thought in a panic mode but gradually I triumphed. Today, I still have the disorder but it does not affect me as much as it did when I first experienced it since I do not know what to do with it.
