Pregnant Women: How to Deal With Anxiety and Insomnia
The wait is often a source of anxiety… how not to have peaks of anxiety when we must wait for 9 months!
So even during a normal pregnancy as it is, pregnant women will certainly have at one time or another, anxiety, fear will suddenly invade.
Fears that may be linked to his own health but is more often the case with that of the unborn child… “will it be normal”?, “Pregnancy going up to term” … the questions are multiple and the reactions of individual women vary widely depending on personal experience, sensitivity, but also the ability to not generalize a sad event occurred to Madame X and recounted in detail the day by the so-called best friend …
Weakened during this period of pregnancy, the mother is often very influenced by what she reads, what it means, and any symptoms or any difference compared to “normal” reference announced by the gynecologist can be source of anxiety.
The anxieties and fears that disrupt the sleep of the pregnant woman to be the real source of recurrent insomnia.
Why insomnia is often the lot of the last trimester of pregnancy: the birth approaching, questions and fears come and wake up the mother in the middle of the night with great difficulty to find sleep.
Insomnia that are aggravated by a comfortable position increasingly difficult to find in late pregnancy and various other minor ailments such as cramps, back pain …
What to do about insomnia?
In most cases, no treatment is necessary.
If you have any anxieties, fears, the best remedies is to know your gynecologist or midwife who can give answers to your questions and calm about your health and your future baby. Take advantage of your meetings to prepare for childbirth and share your concerns to the midwife.
Finally, if you know someone has a bad way to tell you all the misfortunes that she (or he?) Heard in this world about childbirth, pregnancy … try to take your distance and do not destabilize. Each case is individual and unless the person in question is a health professional, better not listen!
If you can not find sleep in the middle of the night, get up a drink of water or milk. Walk a little and go back to bed. Do not stay too long to turn and return to bed, you may do more mounting anxiety.
A healthy lifestyle can also reduce sleep by following some tips:
Take a light meal but not enough to be awakened by hunger avoid taking stimulants such as coffee, tea. Opt instead for a glass of warm milk sleep in a room calm and avoid overheated places you relax while listening to music, or immerse yourself in reading take a bubble bath, not too hot, before going to bed
If despite your best efforts, the difficulties and anxieties persist, talk to your doctor. Alternative drugs may actually be adopted.
Attention, you must not practice self: ask your gynecologist who will prescribe any treatment to help you find the sleep and peace.

Hey Jessica! Listen, I wouldn’t try any miracle products out there. Most of the time you see "results not typical" and its totally right, it makes the people on the commercials look great but not the rest of us. If you don’t already, I would start your day off with some cereal and fruit, if you do a little research you can find some fruits and foods that increase your metabolism. I would also try waking up a little bit earlier than usual to go through some yoga/pilates/walk the dog/walk/jog/simple stretching ANYTHING to get your body burning calories earlier. This helps increase your metabolism. Another thing, eat several small meals several times a day to teach your body that it doesn’t need to conserve your food for later. Depression and stress can also TOTALLY affect your weight loss abilities. Even if there is not a biological thing it does (i am sure there must be) being depressed can really keep you from staying on track with your diet and exercise routine. Just remember that you can do it and everyone is rooting for you!! Good luck
stay positive

what's wrong with my body? why is it so stubborn?
i had a average kid size body when i was in elementary. When puberty hit ( like everyone else) my body expanded! Everythign got big,; my breasts, hips, and butt. I always dealt with depression, stress & sepf esteem issues since i was 6 years old. This increased i nhigh school as well. People said my body was fine especially since i took 3 years of high school dance as a class. My wieght fluctuated. So i graduated high school w/the same body. One year after graduation, i got pregnant which ended in a miscarriage. Two & half months after, i was pregnant again (yes, by the same man). I had Alex in March 2006. At one early point in my pregnancy, w/him. My doctor said i gained too much, so I decreased my eating habits. i should also, i had a strong addiction to soda since i was 4 years old.; i still do. I drank it while I was pregnant. I tried the corset/slim tights after the pregnancy for a month & half. I immediately went in to a very deep post partnum depression. unfortunatel, like always, i ate bad/unhealthy things. When I tried to lose wieght, i couldn’t keep it up for more than a week. Currently, i’ve been able to go for 2 1/2 weeks. I’m a emotional eater. Addicted to soda and even though i try; i see no results! Not form the inches or pounds. my body feels relaxed, energized & active. I’ll cut back on carbs, drink lot of water, exercise 30-45 minutes/day, & eliminate soda. All the things you should do (you name it, i’ve done ti!) and i still see no results! I take anti-depressants, which give me anxiety & insomnia. I am comfortable in my own skin, but I still have a goal to lose wieght. Even if i could at least drop 5 pant sizes & be 170; i’d be so proud! i know it sounds silly, but the slimquick commercials make me think. Are there really other factors that contribute /affect the woman’s weight loss? Could depression & stress beholding meback
P.S. I weigh 210 lbs, 5’0, & 18 in jeans
