There are many factors affecting the occurrence of anxiety disorder. Some people have a high tendency to have it because some members of their family already have it or their genes have it. For some people the disorder is a result of traumatic experiences and stressful events in their lives. Whatever the reason for the occurrence of this disorder, it is important to find a way to relieve anxiety attacks and live normally.

People with anxiety disorder are experiencing intense fear with no logical reason. The fear is so intense that may result to trembling, dizziness, sweating, chest pain, difficulty breathing and the sense of losing grip of reality. These symptoms when experienced will make them more anxious and the anticipation of anxiety attacks makes them even more worried. If they cannot find a way to break this cycle and relieve anxiety attacks, it could torment their lives for years.

Fear is a good thing when it makes us aware of the existing dangers and keeps us alert to do the right thing to save ourselves. But too much fear over something that does not exist is disabling and may prevent you from enjoying life. If you are living in constant fear and having anxiety disorder, you have to break free from it and learn how to relieve anxiety attacks.

Here are some tips to relieve anxiety attacks:

Relaxation and deep breathing. This is a good self-help to relieve anxiety attacks. Deep breathing using your diaphragm has a calming effect which helps relieve stress and anxiety. You can do it while sitting straight or standing. You can close your eyes if you want to and take your mind off from your worries. Inhale or breathe in through your nose with chest in abdomen out. Let your abdomen expand while you inhale and then exhale slowly. You will feel that your muscles are tensing up and you will be more relaxed.

Surround yourself with calm and positive people. It will help to forget about your anxiousness if you can talk to people who are positive and calm. It is easier to get rid of your negative intrusive thoughts when there are people who can convince you that there is nothing to worry and nothing bad is going to happen.

Take care of your health. Stress and poor health are some of the reasons for anxiety attacks. You should get enough sleep, eat healthy and exercise to relieve anxiety attacks. A well rested and nourished body and mind will make you more balanced and in control.

Seek professional help. If you cannot handle your anxiety disorder on your own do not hesitate to seek help. It is a treatable disorder and you can be cured with the proper treatment that will work for you.

There are different treatments to help relieve anxiety attacks. The most important thing is to find a treatment that will work for you. Did you know that panic attacks can be cured using simple mental strategies? To find out how visit Cure Anxiety and Panic Disorder

  6. I can relate to that. I have been suffering from anxiety a lot this year and the meds that my doc did put me on were too much for me. I’m sensitive to meds and the like. Irefuse to take any meds unless I greatly need to take a pill.

For about 6 months now I have effectively managed my anxiety without any meds. In April, I took up singing karaoke – this is something that I would have never considered doing but then I did a total 180. This has worked wonders and there are so many songs a person can sing to get the anxiety down. (I go up and sing Nancy Sinatra’s These boots are made for walking or the Dixies Chicks song – Not ready to make nice) Well even just going up there helps out a bunch.

Another thing that I took up was taking a drop in ballroom dance class and it was a great outlet for physical/emotional expression.

At church I attend a meditation group to help me focus and keep me grounded and it works well. I attend a spiritualist church.

On tough anxiety days I go for walk along the river or in a natural park and spend time with myself. Spending time in nature can be very calming.

I recently took a Stand up Comedy workshop and have done stand up a few times now – this also helps relieve stress and anxiety.

Calling up a friend and going to visit is also very good. Socialzing is good and sometimes that supportive ear can be a great help.

  8. Natrual as in herbal, or natural as in like breathing techniques?

Herbally there’s Saint John’s Wart; some people claim it helped them loads, it didn’t do anything for me, or Kava Kava; which should only be taken for a couple/few weeks at a time as it possibly causes liver damage.

    As for other natural ways:
There are loads of breathing techniques. One that I was taught in grade school is to inhale for 3-5 seconds and exhale for twice as long. Just concentrate on your breathing and counting the seconds.

  10. Sometimes, we need to understand what causes anxiety. When we are faced with a problem or a decision, it is always best to deal with it as soon as possible. When we are anxious, we do not want to. But, if we do meet things head on, it relieves us of the anxiety. Putting of making decisions in life is a big stressor.

Exercise and a good diet with very little caffeine will do wonders to help you as will staying away from sugar.

Learn to breathe right. As you are lying down on your back, place you hands on your stomach. As you breath in, you stomach should move out and when breathing out, you stomach should go in forcing the air out of the lungs.

Once you learn to do thing, you can take a deep breath, hold it and breath out very slowly to expel all of the bad air in your lower lungs. This done about five to ten times will help to relax you.

    Good luck.

  12. What caused your anxiety ? First of all you or your doctor or both of you must find out this. There are too many anxiety reasons…for example the loss of the one you really love or you are under a big pressure…I have been there I know what you are feeling…it may be unbearable sometimes…my doctor gave me a medication but it didn’t help me it made me worse.one night I took my pill and I started to feel worse than I called my doctor not the one who gave me this pill but the one that I really trust who is my doctor since I was a child.he told me to quit this pill and to visit him as soon as i can.but it was late at night so there was no chance for me to see him.I went to my garden and sat there about an hour or two, thinking about myself…what I was going through..I told to myself that I am strong and I don’t want to feel what i was feeling.there is nothing important then me in life…this made me feel better than I slept ,when I woke up in the morning I was feeling a bit better but still not very well…I went out and walked about an hour I had my Walkman with me and I listened to music which was cheerful..than I went to the beach and I swam an hour it made me feel better…trust yourself know who you are, beawere of yourself…there is nothing more important than your happiness…I’ve been there believe me…it was hard to get over it but I did and you sure can.the solution is in you…you really should want to get well…ask for help,it’s not being weak asking for help…try to talk to your friends…stay away from people who are feeling bad…it’s not being selfish…listen to music but not sad songs…music has a very important effect on your mood.try not to think of what you are in…you can get over it…good luck my friend…hope to hear that you are OK very soon.if there is something I can do I’ll gladly do.don’t drink coffee, drink hot chocolate or herbal teas…take a walk…watch funny movies…don’t be alone…and don’t push yourself to do the things that you really don’t want to…be strong…believe in yourself.someday,I hope very soon, these days will be a memory …smile…just try to smile…everything will be fine..good luck…
