I am trying to find information about non-medical treatments for parkinson disease dementia, coping mechanism?
The neuro-psych tests show what appear to be learning disabilities that were not there before. Since learning disabled people can be helped, is anyone working on this for parkinson dementia? My son, at 53, has had pd for 20 years. He is very bright but realizes his limitations. Help, anyone?

Contact your state's Department of Rehabilitation Services [usually in the telephone book's Yellow Pages or Blue Pages under State Government Listings]. They may be able to find funding to enable your son to continue education or training to find suitable work in lieu of his limitations. Some employers are offered monetary incentives to hire people with disabilities and discrimination is a Federal Offense. Speak with your area's ACLU or an attorney if he is unable to find work based upon discrimination of his condition that he otherwise qualifies for.
References :
http://www.merck.com/mmpe/sec16/ch221/ch221g.html?qt=Parkinson's%20Disease&alt=sh
