  2. Neurontin is not an appropriate treatment for depression, anxiety or PTSD. In fact, the makers of this medication were successfully sued in a class action suit involving their overly aggressive marketing of this anti-seizure medication for off-label purposes. Physicians were receiving "incentives" for prescribing it for everything from headaches to fibromyalgia.

Zoloft, on the other hand, might be very helpful to you.

Best of luck to you in your treatment,

  4. Zoloft is an antidepressant. It also helps with anxiety.

Neurontin, I am skeptical about. It claims to be a mood stabilizer. If you do not receive relief of your anxiety and depression, I would suspect that Neurontin is the culprit.

I would then suggest you change Neurontin to an alternate stabilizer.

  6. It made me wet the bed–seriously.

My mother in law took it and it made her voice hoarse.

So who knows what all the side effects are. I agree with the first answerer.

  8. My daughter and I both take Neurontin for different things but the worse side affects for us was a feeling of sleepiness that went away when our bodies got used to the medication. I don’t know what time of the day your doctor wants you to take it but A and I found that it works better and we’re not as tiered during the day if we take it at night. A takes it for headaches and anxiety and I take it for nerve pain due to carpal tunnels syndrome. It had worked really well for A seldom gets migraines anymore and her anxiety is almost non existent.
I hope that you have the same type of experience as she’s had.

  10. There was an ad about Neurontin killing people and doing permenant damage to the users liver. It was a ad that a law firm had out. It was prescribed for my sister and she refuses to take it. The thought of dying over a medicine and the first thing the manufacturer would say is that you overdosed or misused it in some way.
