Anxiety attacks are a very common problem and the last thing any of us want is to stop popping pills for every ailment, so in this article we will look at natural ways to cure anxiety. Anxiety can come from a number of root causes such as situational, phobias we have, genetic problems and adapting to an enviroment. These situations bring on symptoms such as heart palpitations, sweating, trembling, and a feeling of no control are just some of the many feelings this problem can bring on.

To find natural ways to cure anxiety we will need to look at the symptoms that are being experienced and then tracking them back to a root cause, because these anxiety or panic attacks can range from the mild to the absolute dangerous and even the mild ones are no fun at all. In some cases you could feel the effects for days as your body tries to get back to normal after a severe attack.

When people experience a panic attack or anxiety attack for the first time they will have a large sense of fear and a lot will think they are having a heart attack, as they will feel a tightness in the chest and your heart will be racing. The addition of fear that you will naturally feel will compound this problem and will produce a vicious circle. In these cases it will be hard to notice symptoms and what caused them as you will not feel in control at all, but as you become more experienced to these attacks you can start to have a plan as to what starts these and what can be done about it.

Always remember not to try and rationalize these causes during an attack as your mind set is negitive and your mind is not at it’s best. In circumstances like this you will always look at the down side and will make things worse and not better. When you feel your anxiety subside, find a quiet and calming room in which to sit and take stock of what you were doing and thinking to have caused this panic attack. This will be the start of a natural cure for anxiety because when you see what are triggering these anxiety attack symptoms then you can teach yourself to overcome these initial fears and stop the attacks before they start without the need for medication that can sometimes make things worse. You never want to be dependant on drugs for anything.

In conclusion to or quest to find natural anxiety cures you must remember that knowledge is king. When you experience anything for the first time it is a bit scary and with anxiety it is this fear of not knowing what is going on that feeds these attacks and makes them worse. Once you identify these root causes and get the facts so they don’t scare you then you are on your way to stopping your anxiety disorders naturally and getting your happy life back on track.

You would be surprised at how many people visit the emergency room because of a heart attack when the reality is they are only experiencing a panic attack. That will give you an idea of how intense the symptoms of a panic attack can be.

First let’s look at the different physical symptoms that indicate you might be having a panic attack.

Shortness of breath

Trembling or shaking

Sweating

Tightness of the chest

Inability to focus or sit still

Chills or hot flashes

Not only do people experience physical symptoms with panic attacks, but there are psychological symptoms as well. Here is a list of the most common psychological symptoms people experience when having a panic attack or experience while expecting a panic attack to happen:

Fear of losing control

Fear of dying

Agoraphobia or fear of public places

Feelings of unreality

Depression

Potential tendency to turn to substance abuse

For people dealing with recurring panic attacks it can be difficult for family members or loved ones to fully understand what you are going through if they have never experienced a panic attack before.

Sometimes you may feel like you are forced to face the panic attacks alone because your closest friends and family may think you are simply trying to get attention or may quickly lose patience with you because they don’t see it as a big problem.

It’s important to understand that you are not alone in your dealings with panic attacks or anxiety disorder. Many people commonly experience these types of symptoms throughout their lives. Some more than others, but you are not as alone as you may think you are when dealing with these type of problems.

Rest assured panic attacks are not as life threatening as some people think them to be. The cure for panic attacks lies in how you handle the panic attack symptoms. Controlling your thoughts is the key to controlling the power the symptoms have over your mind and body.

How to Cure Panic Attacks – There’s No Such Thing as Cure?

So…can you cure panic attacks?

The simple answer is YES!

A lot of people have this misconception that they are stuck with panic attacks forever. This beliefs comes from their doctors and psychologists who tells them that there are no such thing as panic attacks cure.

These medical professional tells you to learn to live with panic attacks. They teach you “coping technique”, “breathing exercises” and ask you to change your life style to suit your anxiety. They give you medication to subdue your panic attacks. No one question their methods because they are medical professional – its all “medically proven”.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not condemning these medical professionals. Some of them do an excellent job in helping people, but the fact remains that there’s still a lot people out there who do not respond well to their treatment methods and are still suffering from panic attacks.

People need an alternative! They don’t need to be stuck taking medicine forever or even have this beliefs that they are “incurable”.

Panic attacks is NOT incurable. Its not even a mental illness. Somehow along the way, your “panic alarm” gets messed up. It goes off for no reason even though your not in any danger – this is panic attack!

So… can you cure panic attacks? YES! You just have to learn how to fixed this “panic alarm”, its that simple! Does this sound incurable? Obviously NOT!

The KEY thing to take note is fear. What’s make panic attack difficult to stop? Fear. The fear of having a heart attack during panic attack. The fear of fainting during a panic attack. The fear that you might actually die from a panic attack. The cure to panic attacks is to stop this irrational fear.

Your heart is pounding madly and your chest hurts, you think its a heart attack…but ITS NOT! This sort of heart activity is usually reserved for vigorous activity (for example:exercising), when you don’t notice it as much. Its suppose to feel this way when your in “panic mode”.

You feel dizzy and weak, you think your going to faint soon…but YOUR NOT! This sensation is caused by hyperventilation – when your breathing too fast and taking in too much oxygen. Having too much oxygen in your blood will disrupt its normal flow, your brain automatically restrict blood flow to balance out the low carbon dioxide levels – resulting in light-headedness.

As you can see, every symptom your experiencing is caused by the body. Your not stuck with some “mysterious illness”. Furthermore, your body CANNOT kill itself and that’s why you having nothing to fear. Panic attack CANNOT kill you.

Panic Attacks Treatment: Easy to Follow Steps

There are many panic attacks treatment nowadays.  You can resort to books, programs, techniques and medication to cure panic attacks.  In fact, there are even some simple steps that you can follow and use at home.  This article will give you some easy to follow steps on coping with a panic episode.  And, if you want to permanently get rid of panic attacks, a new technique will be discussed in the later part of the article.

Here’s a word of advice.  Before implementing this panic attacks treatment by yourself, make sure that you are really aware of the symptoms of a panic attack.  Sufferers often associate the feelings of a panic attack with feelings of getting a heart attack or nervous breakdown so make sure you do not confuse it with a each other.  If you are having a heart attack instead of a panic attack, then performing these steps might be of no use.

- Think Positive Thoughts

Go for positive thinking!  Since a panic attack is all in the head, and having unwanted thoughts are a product of it, why don’t you try thinking up positive thoughts?  Tell yourself, “I can do this!  I will get over this panic episode!”

- It Is Harmless

Remind yourself that a panic attack is not medically dangerous and is physically harmless.  The scary sensations are just temporary and it will pass.  You are not going to die.

- Breathe

Learn breathing exercises.  One of the symptoms of panic attacks is a shortness of breath.  For this, you should learn breathing exercises and practice them beforehand, so it will come naturally to you the next time a panic episode occurs.

Popular Panic Attack Treatments

If you’ve ever had a panic attack, or recurring panic attacks, chances are you’ve participated in one or more popular panic attack treatments. Treatments come in three general categories: Medication, desensitization, and physiological / mental techniques (a funny way of saying body / mind techniques). Allow me to expand on these a bit and let you know how they work and whether they are effective or not.

When I started having panic attacks, I went to the university health center. This old doctor waddled into the room, checked my vitals, and asked me what was wrong. I told him I thought I had a brain tumor, cancer, or impending heart attack. He did a range of tests and everything came back normal. Then he prescribed me Xanax and told me to take 3 1mg pills per day, end of problem for him! I followed the prescription and quickly realized I would not graduate if I continued taking these pills. So I put them aside, and eventually became dependent on them to relax (which is another story altogether). As for medical treatment, it is quite common to prescribe Xanax or another benzodiazepine. Unfortunately, a tolerance is built up quickly to these drugs and, as in my example, they can be habit forming. Other doctors prefer to prescribe antidepressants, which may be effective for some people after months or years of adjusting the dosage to get the desired effect.

Another popular panic attack treatment is called Interoceptive Desensitization. What happens here is, the doctor will try to induce the symptoms of a panic attack one by one in a controlled setting so that you gradually do not have anxiety surrounding the symptoms. For example, the doctor may spin you around in a chair to make you dizzy. Or the doctor may have you breathe through a straw to simulate airway constriction. I’ve heard of some people having success with these techniques, but this type of therapy is often criticized as being outdated and ineffective.

The final category of treatments include techniques that are designed to either break the pattern of a panic attack, or have some physiological effect on the body which will reduce the secretion of “fight or flight” adrenaline. These are more controversial, newer methods, but they enjoy wide popularity due to the quick results they offer. The first technique is known as the One Move technique. What this does is quickly break the “anxiety cycle” which means you eliminate the fear of having another panic attack. It is the most popular online treatment for eliminating anxiety and panic attacks. The second method, which is rapidly becoming popular is the Linden Method. This method is a series of simple practices which affect an organ in the brain, called the Amygdala, which is 100% responsible for anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, OCD, and PTSD.

After graduating college (no thanks to the Xanax), my panic attacks subsided on their own for several years. Then, when my wife became pregnant with our first child, they resumed again. Seeking treatment, I went to a new doctor and was prescribed Xanax again! It helped me to keep the edge off for awhile, but it rapidly started destroying my life, even though I was taking it exactly as prescribed. I dumped it in the sink and sought help on the internet. Now it has been 4 years (and 3 children) since my last panic attack.

Treating Panic Attacks With A Simple Concept

Anyone who suffers panic attacks know just how devastatingly awful they can be. You imagine just about every worst case scenario possible, from having a heart attack, not being able to breath or just plain losing control. After the first initial panic attack, the resulting attacks after is what scares us the most.

The problem with most ways for treating panic attacks is that they only really mask the problem, but don’t solve them. Medication is a crutch, it helps, but remove that crutch and the panic returns. Coping techniques get you through an attack, they help calm you down, but all they do is make a panic attack less severe. The key to living a panic free life is to understand one thing:

You need to stop being afraid of panic attacks.

Sounds simple doesn’t it? This concept for treating panic attacks is very simple, but applying it can be difficult. I challenge you to try giving yourself a panic attack right now and I’ll bet that you can’t. The reason being is because you want one to happen, which means you have no fear of it at this moment. If panic has nothing to feed off of, like your fear, then it cannot get out of control.

You can think of this concept as a loop. Initial panic leads to fear of more panic, which fuels the fire for another panic attack and we’re back at the start again. Cut the fuel of that fire, and panic has nothing to feed off of.

There are literally thousands of different methods for treating panic attacks, but it’s this one simple idea that really helped me to overcome my panic altogether.

Stop wasting your time with outdated coping techniques or side-effect ridden prescriptions and start living a life that’s panic free.
